The meeting, held at a starred hotel in Panaji, was attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar,
among others.
Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Shripad Naik said, “The candidates expressed their views with regard to the upcoming poll. Gadkari guided us on how to go about the campaign and other
related things.”
When asked about when the next list would be announced, he said, “May be in another one or two days.”
Asked if the issue of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) parting ways with the BJP came up at the meeting, he said, “The issues had come up. But everyone is confident. They should have been with us but now they have left us and gone. People too have also not liked this. They were with us for the last five years and we have fulfilled all their wishes.”
Asked whether the RSS cadre is with the BJP in the upcoming poll, he said,
“The Sangh is with us. But we have to accept that the breakaway RSS will eat into some of our votes. But we are making all efforts to bring them
with us.”
