Speaking to media persons, AAP leader Valmiki Naik said three teams of the party had visited the village and found illegalities taking place.
“From the looks of the three trips that we made to the village, there is no government there it is owned by the mining companies. The amount of ore being transported in the area is beyond the limit and violates the GSPCB and transport department rules,” he said.
According to one team that was headed by activist Ravindra Velip, there were almost 1,200 trucks that were plying nearly 10,000 trips a day through the village. “According to the calculations there are over 1.4 lakh tons of ore being transported on a daily basis that is in violation of the Supreme Court order,” said Velip.
