Abducted Tivim girl rescued from Nashik, one arrested

A 25-year-old man was arrested on Monday in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a girl who was in contact with him, Colvale Police informed.

The alleged accused Raju Sunar who is a native of Nepal has been placed under arrest and the girl has been rescued.

Police tracked the accused and the girl to Nashik from where they were brought to Goa.

A week ago, the victim girl’s sister had lodged a complaint that her younger sister was kidnapped by an unknown person.

Police sources informed that the girl and the man were involved in a relationship.

After gathering enough information, a team consisting of Head Constable Ajay Gaonkar and staff proceeded to Nashik and along with the assistance of Amber Police Station, Nashik traced the abducted girl in Chunchali area of Nashik.

The girl was rescued while the accused person was placed under arrest.

The operation was supervised by SP North Shobit Saxena and SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi and consisted of PI Somnath Majik, LPSI Sonam Verenkar, Head Constable Ajay Gaonkar and Police Constables Rama Naik, Sudhir Parab, Sulesh Naik, and Ravji Naik.

Colvale Police are investigating further.
