An eye witnesses informed that the truck hit the motorcycle from the rear, while the truck driver fled from the accident spot and surrendered later to Ponda police.
According to sources, the deceased, Shakila Sheikh, native of Uttar Pradesh, along with her husband Hameed Ali Sheikh were proceeding on their two-wheeler to GMC Hospital in Bambolim. While they were proceeding towards Panaji, the truck hit them from the rear.
Sources informed that the rider, Hameed sustained injuries, while Shakila reportedly came under the wheels of the truck and succumbed
to injuries.
The truck driver, Arun Kumar Shukla, a native of UP, fled from the accident spot and later surrendered to Ponda police. Ponda
Police is investigating the case.
