Traffic was held up for nearly three hours along the Bicholim-Mapusa route, following a minor accident between two vehicles near the railway over bridge at Sirsaim on Sunday evening.

Traffic was restored only after a police team from the Mapusa police station intervened and moved the two vehicles by the roadside.

The mishap took place at about 6.15 pm and heated arguments prevailed between both parties concerned as no one was ready to take blame for the mishap.

Traffic came to a standstill on both sides of the busy road as hundreds of vehicles were stranded along the route.

The affected motorists then alerted Bicholim police, but since the area fell within the purview of the Mapusa police, efforts were then made to notify the Mapusa police. A Mapusa police team went to the spot and restored traffic along the route.
