Social activist Judith Almeida on Friday has cried foul over the destruction caused to Pandanus along a water body in Colva village.
She has claimed along with the Pandanus, a number of trees and vegetation has been cleared along the water body.
The activist has on Friday spoken to the Goa State Biodiversity Board Chief Pradip Samarkadam, drawing his attention to the destruction of the Pandanus.
She has disclosed plans to lodge a police complaint with the Colva police to conduct an inquiry, saying that a complaint will also be filed with the Forest Department to initiate necessary action.
“How can someone just wipe out the Pandanus and vegetation along a water body? There are rules governing this vegetation and the authorities should initiate action,” Judith demanded.
