According to rainfall data for the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, Sanguem recorded the highest rainfall at 133.5 mm, followed by Valpoi with 122.1 mm, placing both in the 'Very Heavy Rainfall' category. Quepem (80.6 mm) and Sankhali (69.6 mm) also received heavy rain, while Ponda (45.8 mm), Dharbandora (26.2 mm), Canacona (23.2 mm) and Pernem (21.2 mm) recorded moderate rainfall. In contrast, Panaji received just 6.5 mm, the lowest in the state, while Mapusa (7 mm), Dabolim (8.4 mm) and Margao (11 mm) recorded only light showers.
The heavy downpour triggered flooding and disrupted normal life across Sattari taluka, where rivers swelled, low-lying areas were inundated and several roads were closed to traffic. Continuous rainfall over the Western Ghats further worsened the situation, while the premises of the Datta Temple at Pali were also submerged.
In Dharbandora, the bridge over the Ragada River at Deulmol, Sacorda, was submerged after overnight rain caused the river to overflow, disrupting traffic and cutting off movement across the route as vehicles and pedestrians were unable to cross the bridge.
Meanwhile, Curchorem experienced flooding once again after heavy rain led to severe waterlogging caused by clogged drainage channels. Several areas, including Ambedkar Circle, Vishant Theatre and other parts of the town, were inundated, disrupting traffic and affecting residents. With similar flooding reported during previous monsoons, locals renewed their demand for a permanent solution to the town's recurring drainage problems.
