CANACONA
Schools were bustling with activity across Canacona taluka after two years on account of the Covid pandemic, as the academic year began on Monday.
Schools in the taluka witnessed an unusual rush of vehicles as parents and guardians went to take schoolchildren to and from school.
“The rush of vehicles at one time is due to the first day of school, as many parents dropped their children to school and came to collect them after school hours. Many students are yet to be enrolled for school buses,” informed a source.
Policemen placed at a few places had a difficult time maintaining traffic discipline.
In most schools, students were briefed on Covid prevention measures and instructions were given to students not to mingle with students from different classes.
Students were earmarked certain play areas in the school compound during recess and were asked to maintain social distancing in classroom as well as in play areas.
