VASCO
Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik on Saturday said the department would soon open an agriculture college in Old Goa, besides setting up a coconut corporation for the benefit of the people.
Speaking to reporters after visiting Vasco to offer prayers to Lord Damodar on the occasion of Saptah along with Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, Naik said his department would also take up work on repairing the broken bandhs after the monsoons.
“We are also starting an agricultural college at Old Goa. I have already discussed the agricultural college with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who is also the education minister. We want to have this college to motivate Goans into farming and protect our land for the future generations.”
“We are also starting a coconut corporation so that farmers get good rates," said Naik.
Naik said he had visited the Damodar temple on the occasion of Saptah.
"Saptah has been a festival celebrated for decades, and devotees of Lord Damodar arrive from across Goa. I extend my best wishes to all the devotees and Goans," said Naik.
