Ajgaonkar threatens Independent route if BJP denies ticket

MARGAO

Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Manohar Ajgaonkar on Friday said he would contest from Pernem as an Independent candidate if the party leadership denies him the ticket.

Ajgaonkar also expressed confidence that he would be elected by the people of Pernem to the Goa Legislative Assembly in 2027. 

“I am contesting the 2027 election based on my development work in the Pernem constituency. I have treated the people of 

Pernem as God. Going by the trend in the constituency, people of Pernem have already decided to elect me in the upcoming Assembly election,” he said.
