Protesting against door delivery of fish by non-Goans, local fish vendors of Aldona have decided to share their mobile numbers with customers and deliver fish to their door steps free of cost.
"This pandemic has forced Goans to sell goods by the roadside to make a living. We are ready to provide door delivery of fish to customers, particularly the senior citizens. We don't want non-Goans taking away our opportunities if doing business," said Manohar Halarnkar, a fish vendor from Aldona.
The local fish vendors began their four-day closure of fish market from today (Monday).
"Fish vendors from other villages like Moira, Nachinola, Pomburpa etc from Aldona constituency have also joined the protest," said Vinod Toraskar, another fish vendor.
