Insisting that the inclusion of Covid-19 treatment is a must under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday called upon Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to explain the decision to rollback the same.
The AAP has taken a strong stand against the reversal of the progressive decision and pointed out that it had been demanding this for months
“Late night tweet by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane informing about the rollback of prior notification of inclusion of Covid-19 under DDSSY scheme is a major setback for Goans. It reflects the lack of coordination and deep divide between Sawant and Rane. It shows that Swant was unhappy with the notification and hence pushed for rollback," AAP interim convenor Rahul Mhambre stated.
He demanded to know how such an important notification was released without taking ministers and authorities into confidence.
"Goans deserve an answer, CM Sawant must address these questions publicly and share details," he stated.
AAP further labels the capping of treatment charges at private hospitals as "a gimmick" and alleged that private hospitals are holding public healthcare at ransom by forcing their own regulations and rules, be it the compulsory advance of Rs two lakhs, minimum stay of seven days or the hidden costs in treatment.
