Eighty posts of accountants were advertised through direct recruitment of which 43 posts were for the general category, 21 posts of other backward classes, nine posts for scheduled tribes, two posts for scheduled castes and children of freedom fighters each, one post each was reserved for ex-servicemen and sports-persons and one post for a physically handicapped person.
All the 8,000-plus candidates who answered the written test for the 80 posts of accountants advertised by the Directorate of Accounts have failed.
Director of Accounts, Prakash Pereira said, in the results announced on Tuesday, none of candidates have cleared the test.
“I hereby declare that no candidate, who appeared for the initial recruitment examination for the post of accountant (direct recruits) held on January 1, 2018, has secured the minimum qualifying marks necessary for passing,” Pereira said.
More than 10,000 candidates had applied for the posts and were eligible to answer the written test, but a little over 8,000 actually answered the written test which was conducted in January
this year.
The Congress found the results fishy with spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar posting on Facebook that the government was playing with the future of the youth.
“The government is playing with the future of our educated unemployed youth. How can this be possible,”
