The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) leader Ajay Kholkar alleged that the Chimbel panchayat is promoting escort services as noticed on its website.
Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Tuesday, Kholkar informed that when one accesses the panchayat website villagepanchayatchimbel.com and then clicks on the RTI section, information about escort services pops up apart from information about RTI Act.
“There is information about escorts being available with details about providing pleasure,” Kholkar said.
“Last time, I had alleged that the Chimbel panchayat follows Goonda Panchayat Raj Act, now I am alleging that they are following Goonda Prostitution Raj Act,” Kholkar stated.
When The Goan accessed the website, it was found that whatever Kholkar said was true as the controversial information was indeed present on the Chimbel VP website.
However, hours after the allegations made by Kholkar, the RTI webpage and many other webpages in the site villagepanchayatchimbel.com were taken down and attempts to access the webpages generated the remark ‘Internal Server Error’ and were not successful late Tuesday evening.
Later at night, the RTI webpage was rectified after the controversial information was deleted and all other webpages were restored on the Chimbel panchayat website.
