RDA Minister and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha has expressed happiness that two ambulances with paramedic staff have been sanctioned to operate round the clock at the health centres in Cortalim and Cansaulim.
“With the ongoing work of upgradation and expansion of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Cansaulim, there is no night medical facility at this PHC. I had put my request for an ambulance service before the Health Minister Francis D’Souza, as the people in the villages were facing a lot of hardship due to lack of this facility.”
“It was with great joy that I received the news that two ambulances have been sanctioned, one for the Cortalim PHC, which serves the villages of Cortalim, Quelossim, Consua, Sancoale and Zuari Nagar and another for the Cansaulim PHC, which caters to the villages of Cansaulim, Arossim, Cuelim, Velsao, Utorda, Seraulim, Benaulim upto Colva,” Saldanha said.
Saldanha further maintained that the villagers of Cortalim-Quelossim had also faced a lot of hardship as there are no doctors in the villages willing to attend to the sick in the night.
She said that the people of these villages can now breathe in peace being reassured by the presence of the medical facility round the clock.
