Annotsava, the 10-day extravagant food festival organised by the Rotary Club of Belgaum was inaugurated by Belagavi MP Mangala Suresh Angadi opposite Angadi Institute of Technology and Management on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Angadi lauded the effort of the organisers stating that apart from entertaining the people of Belagavi and Goa region, the festival will give an opportunity to relish a variety of food items and other delicacies. She also appealed to the people to visit the festival and get refreshed as Belagavi is experiencing very cool and salubrious weather these days.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the organising committee Parag Bhandare said the festival has come of age since it was started 27 years ago.
“This is an excellent opportunity for the people of Belagavi and Goa region to spend an evening with their families as over 200 stalls will be offering the best in the culinary. We have best of the food items and delicacies offered by food specialists from Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan, Gujarat and other states,” Bhandare said, while briefing about the elaborate arrangements at the festival.
A huge stage with excellent illumination and sound system has been erected with 1,700 sq ft LED screen where celebrity singers and noted artistes from across the region would be entertaining the visitors.
Annotsav by Rotary Club has come a long way since 1997 and has become a major attraction among people of Belagavi and Goa region, barring two Covid marred years.
“Goans visiting Belagavi can visit the festival and make their evenings more delicious and delightful,” Rotarian Basavraj Vibhuti said.
Young Rotarians Parag Bhandare, Manoj Pai and Yogesh Kulkarni who have toiled for the excellent arrangements were also honoured.
