Anticipatory bail granted
MARGAO: The Sessions Court (South) granted anticipatory bail to one Friendy, who is suspected to have allegedly duped one Francisco of Rs 1.50 lakh.
According to the prosecution, the suspect had allegedly collected a sum of Rs 1.50 lakh from the complainant's son on the pretext of overseas employment. When the suspect failed to deliver, the complainant lodged a complaint with the police, who booked him under Section 420 of IPC.
Anticipating arrest, the suspect filed for anticipatory bail before the Sessions Court. The Court granted anticipatory bail and the suspect was directed to furnish a bail bond of Rs 10,000 and surety of like amount.

Duo injured in Cuncolim accident
MARGAO: The rider of a scooter and the pillion were injured when they were knocked down by a speeding car at Cuncolim.
According to Cuncolim police, the accident occurred when the speeding car driven by one Kerala native, Moideen, was proceeding from Margao to Kerala. As it approached Cuncolim, the car knocked down the sccoterist duo - rider Bhikarao (32) and the pillion Sandesh (41).
Upon getting information, Cuncolim police registered an offence under Sections 279 and 337 of IPC.
Further investigations are in progress.
