The State police will requisition anti-drone teams of NSG and NDRF for the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member countries slated next month.
In a review meeting held on Tuesday, Director General of Police Jaspal Singh directed the
officers to make foolproof security arrangements for the meeting scheduled on May 4-5.
The meeting also decided to requisition an anti-drones teams of NSG and NDRF to ensure countermeasures against any kind of eventuality. The officers were also instructed to utilise the experience grained during BRICS Summit for the upcoming meet.
Further, SP Traffic Bossuet Silva was directed to ensure smooth movement for the motorcades of the participating Foreign Ministers and to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the general public.
In the meeting, the officers were also directed to make adequate administrative arrangements for the police personnel to be deployed on duty.
Earlier, DGP visited the venue alongwith SP South Goa in Colva and held a meeting with the hotel management on the security for the VIP delegates from their arrival till their exit from Goa.
Singh informed that the hotel management was briefed about the various security imperatives considering that Foreign Ministers of China, Pakistan and Russia are likely to participate.
