CURCHOREM: An anti-plastic bags awareness programme was held in Quepem on Sunday by Dyandeep Pratishthan-Goa in association with Shri Durgadevi Kala and Sanskriti Mandal and Omkar Sanskrutik Mandal Quepem. The participants carried banners and cardboard placards with anti-plastic messages like 'Say no to plastic, break the plastic habit, refuse plastic,' etc.

Speaking to The Goan, Yogesh Kunkolienkar from Quepem said the awareness programme was organised to sensitize the common people against the use of plastic bags.

He further said many speakers gave informative inputs regarding ill effects of usage of plastic bags and urged local people to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.

Later, over 1000 cloth bags, sponsored by Kamakshi Digiworld, were distributed to the people.
