Aquem demands ouster of pancha over absenteeism

The gram Saba of Aquem-Baixo witnessed a demand from the members for the disqualification of a panch member for not attending the meetings as per the Panchayati Raj Act.
At the Sunday gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Sharon Quadros, the police was called to evict a member from the hall for allegedly using foul language.
The incident occurred after the member raised a query and the deputy sarpanch sought to know whether he is a gram sabha member.
Sarpanch Sharon told the media that the person is indeed a member of the gram sabha but was evicted for using foul language.
On the demand for the disqualification of the panch member, she said that the panchayat will follow the laid down a procedure before taking any further action.
