The Assolna gram sabha on Sunday has resolved to write to the police department to intensify patrolling at the Children's park to crack a whip against anti-social activities, including drug use.

MARGAO: The meeting chaired by Sarpanch Xavier Almeida saw members demanding that the Panchayat demolish a portion of the compound wall of the park so as to give a clear view of the area from outside. The members also raised concern over the issue of parking on the Assolna bridge during the weekend with members demanding that the panchayat write to the traffic and police department to regulate traffic on the bridge. Sarpanch Xavier told The Goan after the meeting that the panchayat will immediately write to the Cuncolim police patrol the area near the Children's park to keep the anti-socials at bay. "Members today spoke of the park being misused for drug consumption. This should stop immediately", the Sarpanch added.
The Shiroda Panchayat on Sunday decided to extend its area of collecting garbage from door to door.
