ATM trail left by the accused helped cops nab him: DIG Vimal Gupta

Goa Police on Sunday said that the arrest of the accused, Rajkumar Singh (21), in the Monika Ghurde murder case was a result of joint efforts launched by the Goa police along with Bengaluru police and the unconventional methods employed by the combined force of North Goa police.

The accused Singh used Ghurde’s mobile phone and withdrew over Rs one lakh using her debit card from ATM booths at Porvorim, Mangalore and Bangalore. Each withdrawal was around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
As Ghurde had a bustling social life, Goa Police assembled multiple teams to probe the various theories and assembled several teams without sticking to Saligao police jurisdiction.
