Welcoming the start of the NH66 4-laning work between Bendurdem and Canacona, Sports Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar said the road will eventually enable travel between Canacona and Margao within barely 30 minutes.
“It has been the dream and demand of every Canconcar that the NH-66 passing through the taluka should be upgraded to a 4-lane road, and soon after the Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road became a reality, within six months we got the approval to construct this Bendurdem-Char Rasta and Maxem to Polem,” said Tawadkar.
“While tree felling work has begun, the actual construction, land-filling and other related works will begin only in October.”
“Just as travelling between Margao and Panaji distance is covered in less than 30 minutes, once the Canacona-Bendurdem and Bendurdem-Pazorconni 4-lane road is constructed, travelling between Canacona and Margao will be barely 30 minutes.”
