A Bicholim Court will next hear the Rs 100 crore libel suit filed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s wife, Sulakshana, against Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on March 7, after lawyers for the latter sought time to file his written reply.
While seeking the adjournment, Singh’s lawyers also furnished an undertaking that the Rajya Sabha member would not make any defamatory statements in connection with the case till the next hearing or until the reply is filed by the AAP MP.
On Friday, the Court, after hearing Singh’s lawyers, adjourned the matter to March 7.
Ms Sawant had filed the defamation suit for Rs 100 crore against Singh after he linked her to the cash-for-government-jobs scam.
At a press conference held in Delhi in December, he alleged that she was also involved in the scam.
