Bike rally held in Canacona
CANACONA: Over 300 youth staged a motorcycle rally, trekking the mountains of Gaondongrim village on Sunday.
The rally of the youth, affiliated to BJP yuva sangh, Canacona block, was flagged off by Canacona MLA and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar from KTC bus stand, Chaudi.
Tawadkar called for enrolling 1,000 youth to BJP yuva sangh of Canacona in the next 2 months.
Besides BJP yuva sangh president Pankaj Dessai and secretary Sanju Pagui, Canacona block president Mahesh Naik and secretary Visual Desai took part in the motorcycle rally which went from Nagorcem-Palolem-Patnem and rode off to the highway via Ponsulem, Kindlem and Mastimoll.
The rally than proceeded to Gaondongrim where the motorcycles were stationed and a trek was taken from lower Bhupar to upper Bhupar.
The participants collected plastics and other waste thrown on the pathway to upper Bhupar, informed, Sanju Pagi.
Pankaj Dessai said the aim of the rally and trek was to highlight protection of nature.
