Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Shantaram Naik on Thursday declared that the BJP's stand on the ongoing meat traders' issue is guided by RSS ideology and sought to question the dual stands adopted by BJP at the national level and in Goa.
Speaking at Congress House, Naik stated, "These things are decided by RSS. Some days back, RSS held its annual exercise, which was attended by Parrikar. BJP's national policy on meat is contradictory to the policy exercised out of poli
tical compulsion in Goa. How is that? Are there two BJPs with two different policies?"
Naik further demanded that the ruling party should first issue an arrest warrant against Sadhvi Saraswati "who made a horrible statement in Goa that any person eating beef should be brought out and publicly flogged".
"In spite of this, Parrikar could not file a simple FIR against this woman. Maybe time has lapsed but that does not condone his action. Despite being aware of what is happening, Parrikar chose to be in Delhi to talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss some projects. He could have delayed this discussion to make time to speak with the meat traders in Goa," Naik pointed out.
