Exuding confidence that the BJP would win both seats in Goa and a majority of seats in Karnataka, Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has also stated that the BJP will be soon in power in Karnataka as well.

He was speaking to The Goan during his visit to Belagavi and Khanapur on Wednesday. He also took part in the massive rally that was organised to exhibit show of strength and later accompanied former Karnataka chief minister Jagdish Shettar in filing his nomination from from Belagavi parliamentary constituency.

“I am confident that looking at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees for the youth, women and farmers, people of Karnataka also want Modiji to be the prime minister once again. BJP along with its allies is likely to win all 28 parliamentary seats. I am also confident that BJP will come back in power in Karnataka too and like Goa, we will have a double engine government in Karnataka too,” Sawant said.

“Apart from Goa, I will be giving more time for Karwar and Belagavi constituencies.”

Asked why BJP is overrelying on Modi’s name, Sawant replied: “People have witnessed development achieved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last 10 years. No doubt the candidate is important, but people will vote for lotus, people will vote for BJP, people will vote for the vision of Prime Minister Modiji as no Congress prime minister has achieved in the last 50 years what the BJP has achieved in the last 10 years,” Sawant said.

To another query about Jagdish Shettar who was from Hubballi but contesting from Belagavi, the Goa CM said Shettar is a BJP stalwart.

“He has worked extensively for the development of entire Karnataka when he was the chief minister of the state. He has also excellent rapport,” said Sawant.
