Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said steps have been taken to provide separate space for the displaced Kannadigas and their rehabilitation, after 22 houses were demolished at Sangolda on April 12 and 13.
Speaking to media persons after accompanying former Karnataka chief minister Jagdish Shettar to file his nomination papers from Belagavi constituency, Sawant said, as per the order of the court, the houses of the Kannadigas were demolished without the will of the government. Acting on directives of the High Court, authorities had demolished 22 illegal structures in Comunidade property at Sangolda.
