Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday celebrated its completion of four years of being in power by undertaking ‘Jana Sampark Din’, a State-wide programme of distribution of pamphlets and booklets containing a list of commitments fulfilled by the party while in power.

The pamphlet listed various works and projects completed by the government boosting growth in infrastructure, agriculture and social welfare.

Ironically, the last in this list is resumption of mining activities in September 2015. "Around 8,400 persons have benefited under 'Mining Affected People Welfare Scheme'. Amount of Rs 137 crore disbursed. Government realises Rs 816 crore through e-auction of 70 tonnes of ore. Rs 107 crore revenue through royalty and processing fees," reads the last paragraph in the pamphlet.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar while launching the 'Ghar Ghar Chalo Abiyan' in Pernem taluka said the BJP government has fulfilled most of the promises given in the election manifesto.

Speaking to The Goan, BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanavade informed that the drive was undertaken successfully in over 1,600 booths across Goa.

“The response received from public by almost 16,000 to 20,000 karyakartas who worked throughout the day was astounding. We successfully reconnected with 3.7 lakh households. We had printed four lakh pamphlets,” Tanavade stated.

Incidentally, BJP Panaji mandal began with the Jana Sampark Din from a house opposite Pharmacy College, which is allegedly the residence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar according to his voter-ID records.

Kick-starting the drive in Panaji, Panaji MLA Sidharth Kuncalienker highlighted the schemes, projects and various issues tackled by the BJP-led State government.
