The BJP virtually kicked-off its preparations for the 2022 Assembly election on Wednesday by chalking out a host of programmess, beginning from June 21 with the celebration of Yoga Day and culminating with commemoration of the birth anniversary of party leader Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on July 6.
The programme is expected to activate the party network, right from the booth karyakarta to the MLAs and ministers representing the constituency.
This became evident when Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Party president Sadanand Tanavade, deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar, besides Ministers hailing from South Goa, Mauvin Godinho, Deepak Pauskar, Nilesh Cabral, Filipe Neri Rodrigues, besides MLAs, including Alina Saldanha, Wilfred D’Sa, Clafacio Dias and the block presidents from the district went into a huddle at the district party office here on Wednesday evening to chalk out the strategy for the coming election.
Party general secretary Satish Dhond, besides senior leaders Rajendra Arlekar, Narendra Sawaikar, Damu Naik were amongst those who attended the meeting.
Briefing the media, Tanavade said the meeting was primarily called to chalk out the program, beginning from June 21 and culminating on July 6. He said a similar meeting has been called in North Goa at Mapusa on Thursday to chalk out a similar program in the district.
A MLA, who participated in the meeting, later told The Goan that the meeting was held to get the karyakartas activated and ready for the forthcoming Assembly election. “The programs chalked out by the leaders is one way to gear up the workers and work for the coming election to ensure that the BJP comes back to power to work for the people and the state”, the MLA added.
