With speculation mounting over the possibility of early Assembly elections in Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its organisational preparations, as the party's National General Secretary (Organisation), B L Santosh, arrived in the State on Saturday and is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with party leaders on Sunday.

Santosh was received on his arrival by BJP Goa President Damodar Naik and party sources said the national leader is expected to hold one-on-one meetings with senior BJP leaders to assess the party's preparedness ahead of the polls.

The visit comes amid heightened organisational activity within the BJP. After convening its state executive committee meeting following a gap of nearly a year, the party has been holding regular meetings with Mandal presidents, constituency in-charges, office-bearers and leaders of its various frontal organisations to review election preparedness at every level.

Declining to comment on the schedule of meetings or the leaders expected to participate, Naik said a detailed programme had not yet been communicated.

Meanwhile, party sources said the BJP is also restructuring committees across its various wings, with greater emphasis on inducting younger leaders and grassroots workers into organisational roles as part of its strategy for the upcoming elections.

During his visit, Santosh is also expected to inspect the BJP's new state headquarters, where construction is nearing completion, and review the progress of the project.

Sources said the new BJP state office is expected to be inaugurated before the elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to preside over the event. BJP national president Nitin Navin is also expected to attend, although the party has not officially confirmed the programme.
