BJP leaders hail notification as step towards political empowerment

A delegation of BJP leaders comprising Prabhakar Gaonkar, Anthony Barbosa, Sushma Gaude, Minguelina D’Souza, Milagrina Gomes, Rajan Borkar and others from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) community called on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and expressed gratitude for his proactive efforts in facilitating the notification on political reservation for STs.

The leaders said political reservation had been a long-pending demand of the ST community and welcomed the notification as a significant step towards ensuring political representation and empowerment.

They also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their leadership and support in addressing the long-standing demand of Goa’s ST community.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of Kala Academy, Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar congratulated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for playing a key role in securing justice for the ST community. “Political reservation was a rightful entitlement of the ST community, and they had to wage a long struggle to obtain it. At last, they have received justice,” Kavlekar said.
