An SUV owned by BJP leader Vallabh Salkar from Bicholim was set ablaze by culprits on Sunday midnight.
A fire brigade rushed to the site and prevented the flames from spreading to vehicles parked nearby. Salkar lodged a complaint and police are looking into the CCTV footage.
“I have been in politics since the last 30 years but I have never witnessed such an incident till today. I will not remain silent till I identify the culprit,” said Salkar.
The incident prompted strong condemnation from various leaders like Dr Shekhar Salkar, Dr Chandrakant Shetye, Naresh Sawal and Rajesh Patnekar.
