BJP quick to hike prices, slow to deliver benefits: AAP

PANAJI:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday accused the BJP-led double-engine government of “looting Goans” through steep increases in the prices of essential commodities and delays in delivering welfare benefits to people.

During the party’s “Aap Ki Chai” outreach meetings held in Ponda and Pernem, AAP leaders interacted with local residents and discussed issues affecting their households.

AAP leaders Geetesh Naik and Sunil Signapurkar led the interactions, focusing on the rising cost of living and what they described as the government’s failure to address people's day-to-day concerns.

Addressing residents in Ponda, Naik said the BJP government was quick to increase prices but slow when it came to disbursing payments and benefits owed to citizens.

“The government has no hesitation in burdening people with higher costs, but when it comes to giving people what is rightfully theirs, there are endless delays,” he said.

Naik also highlighted AAP’s promise of providing Rs 3,000 per month to women, describing it as a measure intended to ease the financial pressure on families struggling with inflation.

Residents attending the meetings voiced concerns over rising household expenses and the increasing cost of essential goods and services. Several participants spoke about the challenges of managing monthly budgets amid persistent price increases.

In a press release AAP said, the “Aap Ki Chai” programme is intended to create a direct platform for dialogue between party leaders and citizens while gathering feedback on local issues.

The party said such interactions would continue across Goa as part of its efforts to connect with voters and build awareness about its policies and guarantees ahead of future electoral contests.
