CANACONA

After being hit by mass rebellion in Canacona constituency, the BJP has stepped up efforts to attract supporters into the party and to persuade voters to elect its candidate Vijay Poi Khot.

While interacting with people across the constituency, the BJP has been explaining to voters that development in the taluka had been carried out by the party and not by any individual, in an apparent dig at former BJP minister and rebel candidate Ramesh Tawadkar.

A women's meet was also conducted in different parts of Poinguinim.

Speaking to The Goan, one active campaigner Vikas Bhagat said, ‘”We are regularly getting unexpected response from all sections of people. We have a candidate with a vision and it adds energy, enthusiasm, winning spirit, patience and dedication. These are qualities of the BJP candidate that brings in support from all sides.”

During the BJP's campaign, party supporters provided information on all government schemes and development undertaken during the last five years.

Most of the BJP corner meetings held so far have evoked reasonable crowd, giving hope to party workers that a large number of people have continued to support the party in Canacona constituency.
