Speaking to media persons, he said, “All Boards across the country are unanimous that the hiking of marks should be stopped. We don’t follow it. At least for the last five years, we have not undertaken any increase of marks which is done artificially to create an inflationary effect.”
He, however, stated that the Board follows the system of giving grace and sports marks which are within the rules and have been well defined.
“The only thing that might affect us is that we add sports marks to the total marks and is not added to the individual subject. Only if a student fails, these marks get added in the subject. Measures will be taken to see that it is standardised all over the country and those marks are not added to the subject to create an inflationary effect,” said Rebello.
