MARGAO
Addressing the media, Shakuntala Mesquita said the residents will approach the court of law if the Panchayat authorities fail to initiate action against the panchayat body.
She pointed out that the residents of 1st Ward Colva had been waging a battle to stop the illegal permanent structures from being put up in the road widening of the ward on the Margao-Colva major district road.
She claimed the Sarpanch had issued a demolition notice without first giving a show cause notice enabling the party to
obtain an ex-parte stay before the Additional Director of Panchayats.
“We appeal to the BDO, Dy Director of Panchayats and the Director to order a Vigilance enquiry immediately into this issue failing which we will approach the Courts for justice,” Mesquita added.
