A 37-year-old man from Taribhat in Borim-Ponda lost his life after falling from a height of 15 meters while exploring the rocky terrain of Mottar/Grande Island off Vasco.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening as Sachin Dhananjay Naik and his friends were walking in the area to watch the sunset.
According to the Harbour Coastal Police Station, the mishap happened when Naik’s left leg slipped on the rocks, causing him to fall into a rocky cave and sustain multiple injuries. He was rushed to the Cansaulim Health Centre, where he was declared brought dead by.
The police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the BNSS and the body has been sent to the District Hospital at Margao.
PSI Rohidas Velip of the Harbour Coastal Police station is carrying out further probe.
