MARGAO
This time round, the miscreants burgled into two apartments owned by Ramesh Patil and Rama Borkar. While the burglars did not lift any valuables from the house of Rama Borkar, they decamped with cash of Rs 30,000, besides a gold necklace, a pair of earrings and silver items from the house of Patil.
Patil told The Goan that the inmates of the house were out of station since Thursday, and has returned home after being informed by the neighbours about the burglary.
The miscreants effected entry into the two apartments by breaking open the locks of the main door.
The Margao police requisitioned the services of fingerprint experts and a sniffer dog to assist in the investigations, but could not succeed in collecting any vital clue.
This is the second major burglary that has been reported in the Aquem area of the city in a week’s time, with burglars making merry last week at the staff quarters of the electricity department, which is just metres away from the site of Monday night’s burglary.
