Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Executive Committee member Sidhanath Buyao on Thursday extended his full support to the Margao Civic Alliance formed by Congress leader Digambar Kamat and Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesdai to stop the “BJP virus” from spreading across the state.
Addressing the media, Buyao said he had planned to contest the MMC polls from Ward no 6, but has now decided to extend the support to the Margao Civic Alliance with the sole aim to keep the BJP at bay. “My leader and leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco have formed the Margao Civic Alliance with the Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai. We have got the BJP virus in the state and it is high time, we all come together in the interest of the state”, Buyao said.
To a question that Congressmen from Fatorda have filed their nominations for the Civic polls, Buyao said he would try and convince the Congressmen to withdraw from the fray in the interest of Margao and Goa”, he added.
