Charted Accountant Rajendra Laxmikant Bhobe has been recently appointed as Goa region chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS Goa Sanghachalak).
The appointment comes after former chief Laxman (Nana) Behre has expressed his wish to resign from the position due to personal reasons. This change was made a few days back, however, it was not released to the public.
"I have been given the responsibility of Goa RSS chief," confirmed Rajendra Bhobe about his appointment.
A charted accountant by profession Rajendra Bhobe was earlier serving as the North Goa district chief of RSS. He also looks after the work of the education wing of RSS Vidhya Bharti.
Mahesh Dhavlikar, Eknath Murudkar, Shirish Amshekar, Sanjay Walavalkar, Ratnakar Lele, Sunil Sawant are the other functionaries of RSS in Goa.
In 2016, former RSS chief Subhash Velingkar was sacked from the position and Laxman Behre was appointed as the new chief of state unit as Velingkar had been openly criticising then chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
Velingkar has then formed a separate Goa RSS wing.
