Chicalim parish priest Fr Bolmax Pereira has urged the people to vote for the right candidates in the panchayat polls who will not switch sides after getting elected.
Further, Fr Pereira has urged the people not to be lured by the money that will be offered to them by candidates and also advised the voters not to split their votes. The priest has further opined that since the panchayat elections are not fought on party lines, people should ask the parties not to involve in the panchayat polls.
In one of his sermons, Fr Pereira said, “Panchayat elections are not fought on party-lines. So people should ask the parties not to involve themselves in the elections as parties have no role to play in panchayat polls. Panchayats are of the people.”
