Cameroonian held in Siolim drug bust

In a significant drug bust, Anjuna Police arrested a Cameroonian national, Emmanuel Fon (40), early Wednesday morning on charges of illegal possession of psychotropic substances in Siolim.

The raid, conducted between 2.30 am and 5 am near the Siolim football ground, was based on specific and reliable information, according to police reports.

Fon was found in possession of various illegal drugs, including 2.66 grams of Ecstasy valued at approximately Rs 30,000, 1.40 grams of MDMA worth Rs 20,000, and 1.26 grams of Methamphetamine valued at Rs 15,000, totalling an estimated street value of Rs 65,000.

In addition, cash amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh was seized during the operation.

The raid was carried out by Anjuna Police under the supervision of acting Police Inspector (PI) Nikhil Palekar, SDPO Mapusa Sandesh Chodankar, and with overall supervision from SP North Goa, Akshat Kaushal (IPS).

The case has been registered under section 22(b) of the NDPS Act at Anjuna Police Station.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.
