Ahead of the Diwali festival, the State government has announced the release of a non-productivity linked bonus (ad-hoc bonus) to its employees on or before October 31.

However, the bonus will not be applicable to Group B and Group C employees.

“It has been decided by the government of Goa to make the non-productivity linked bonus (ad-hoc bonus) applicable to the employees of the State government, with the condition that all employees in Group ‘C’ and all non-gazetted employees in Group ‘B’, drawing a Grade Pay of Rs 4600 and above (presently in level 7 of the Pay Matrix of the Seventh Pay Commission) as of 1 April 2024, shall not be covered under the present scheme,” the order issued by Naresh Gaude (Under Secretary Finance) said.

The order stated that the payment of the bonus to other eligible employees shall be through ‘e-payment’ mode only.

It also mentioned that the Office Memorandum (OM) of the Government of India, as adopted by the government of Goa, is applicable to the employees of autonomous bodies (partly or fully funded by the government) only if the said bodies follow an emoluments pattern identical to that of the government and do not have any bonus, ex-gratia, or incentive scheme in operation.
