The chairpersons of the Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) and the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) received the Indian Swachhta League (ISL) awards in New Delhi on Friday.
Urban Development Minister Kaushik Kishore presented the award to CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar and CMC Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar at the Swachh Sehar Samvad and Azad@75 Swatch Survekshan Awards at Talkotara Stadium, New Delhi.
The CMC bagged the award in the less than 15K Population Category from among the 1,850 participating cities in the country.
Mission Swatch Bharat Mission-Urban Secretary Manoj Joshi, Joint Secretary and Director Roopa Mishra and others were also present at the event.
A team of councillors including CMC Dy Chairperson Laxuman Pagui and CMC former chairperson Simon Rebello were among those who accompanied the CMC team to Delhi.
