CANACONA
Lions Club of Canacona felicitated three teachers on the occasion of Teacher's Day celebrations for their outstanding services in the taluka.
Teachers, St. Thereza of Jesus High-School, Chaudi Headmaster Alleluia Pereira and St.Anthony's School Galgibaga Primary Teacher Efresina Barretto were felicitated by Region Chairperson Lion (Adv) Anand Dessai for their meritorious services rendered to the students community.
Canacona Lions honoured St. Francisco Xavier Primary School, Bhatpal teacher, Classy Cardozo, at the hands of St. Anthony HS Galgibaga Principal, Fr. Simon Fernandes, for winning 'Goyemcho Awaaz', an All Goa singing competition.
The function was held in the school premises of St. Anthony Galgibaga, where Canacona Lions president Motesinho, in his welcome address, paid glowing tributes to late Presidents of India, S. Radhakrishna and Dr. Abdul Kalam.
Adv. Anand Dessai reminded students who were present of Dr. Abdul Kalam's wish to remember him as a teacher.
Others who spoke on the occasion were St. Anthony HS principal, Fr. Simon Fernandes, Headmaster Erwin Colaco, as well as the felicitated teachers Alleluia Pereira and Efrezina Barretto.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Ulhas Phaldessai, while the function was compered by Manual Martins.
