A Hyundai car and a Honda Dio scooter were destroyed in a major fire at Maina Curtorim on Monday.
The loss of property is pegged at around Rs 5.45 lakh, while the fire brigade is believed to have saved property worth around Rs 10 lakh.
Margao Fire Officer Gill D’Sa informed that the fire brigade rushed to Maina Curtorim at Combat after receiving a call that the two vehicles have caught fire when they were parked inside a parking shed.
He said the fire brigade extinguished the fire before it could spread to the adjoining house.
