PANAJI: Companies operating the offshore casinos in the Mandovi, who were earlier this week permitted to stay moored in the picturesque river for another six months, have now been notified to re-tender their unqualified willingness to move out without any claims whatsoever in March next year.
Sources in the administration said, the cabinet decision taken approving the six-month extension to the casinos to continue operating in the river hugging the State's capital, mandates that a fresh undertaking be obtained from the gaming companies.
All the companies who collectively operate the six vessels in the Mandovi had furnished such an undertaking to the State government when they were put on notice in March this year and given six months in which they were informed they would be relocated elsewhere in the State.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who had publicly committed to relocate the off-shore casinos had proposed a gaming district closer to the greenfield airport coming up on the Mopa plateau.
