One of the major issues discussed at the meeting was lifting of dry waste (garden waste including leaf litter), construction of CCP’s new building, salary grants and revamp of the new municipal market in the city, among others.
“We have discussed certain ways and means of lifting this garden waste. We expect to address this issue within the next fortnight. I have also asked for a bigger mulching machine,” said Furtado.
“We also discussed salary as well as other grants to CCP which have been pending with the State government. I have submitted a letter to CM. He was kind enough to mark it to DMA with a strong recommendation to look into the matter,” said Furtado.
Nonetheless, Furtado has sought funds to the tune of Rs 5 crore from the State government to revamp the new municipal market in Panaji.
“With this money, we want to revamp the entire complex which includes painting and installation of nearly 250 CCTVs. The overall estimates are also ready,” he informed.
Nonetheless, Furtado has also made a formal request to the Chief Minister to visit CCP so that he can personally go through the presentation of the new CCP building.
