The BJP’s national convener for energy cell, Narendra Taneja, on Wednesday said the BJP-led government in the State has done very well, but the outbursts of some party MLAs against its own government has not gone down very well with senior leaders in Delhi.

“The four-year performance of the BJP-led government in the State has been very good. The Goa government’s performance is being quoted by BJP and even by its opponents in other parts of the country,” Taneja said.

Taneja, an energy expert, was speaking exclusively to The Goan after taking part in the 6th Asia Energy Security Summit 2016 held at Hotel Radisson Goa, Candolim.

He disclosed that the quality of governance in Goa was being monitored very closely by the BJP leadership in Delhi.

“The governance of the BJP-led government has been worth emulating. I am very confident that after the elections in 2017, we will not only come back to power but also increase our numbers,” he said.

He said the party did not foresee any major threat in the forthcoming elections because opposition in the State was more or less neutralized.

The energy expert donning the party hat said the central party leaders had taken note about the criticism of some party MLAs against its own government in the State.

He, however, refused to name the MLAs.

He refused to be drawn into a controversy when asked if these MLAs will be denied party tickets at the next assembly election.

He also stayed away from making an opinion of the performance of the party legislators.

“I won’t like to comment on the performance of individual MLAs because that will be decided by the local unit, which will assess the situation and send feedback to Delhi,” he said.
